Chrissie & Matt

An unique & intimate celebration in London.

I loved photographing Chrissie & Matt’s wedding at the Art Pavilion, Mile End, London. As soon as I spoke to Chrissie I knew that we were a good fit; they connected with my philosophy and how that would fit into what they wanted their day to be. In the end, it was one of those days which just reminded me of why I love doing what I do, and what a privilege it is to photograph such a beautiful time in people’s lives. I am a wedding photographer, but I don’t get too hung up on ‘wedding photos’. For me, photographing from real-life is just far more interesting, and I’m constantly reminded of this every time I pick up my camera – no less so than at Chrissie & Matt’s wedding.

I loved that neither of them were afraid to break the ‘wedding rules’. To touch upon two examples; a unconventional Buddhist inspired ceremony & an open mic style of speeches – it made for a laid-back, highly personal day, full of the atmosphere of life. Which are perfect ingredients for fantastic memories – everything you want from a wedding.

It has to be said: we were blessed with some beautiful weather. I never let rain dictate someone’s day, but when you can relax outdoors on a warm, summer’s evening, watching baby coots swim by… you can’t complain!

One final thing we can say with absolute certainty: we all now know how to eat an artichoke. (sorry, inside joke!)
