3 Essential Wedding Tips

Three really simple but essential tips for having the best time possible on your wedding day… because I know you’ve probably already seen the ‘here are a zillion things you need to check when planning your wedding otherwise the world will explode!’ type articles on wedding blogs or magazines. Whilst I’m sure they may have good intent, they can have a tendency to focus on some pretty meaningless details, or just focus on the latest trends for that season. And if they’re not doing that, the sheer quantity of things you have to then think about seems to multiply at an alarming rate.

And I’m pretty sure you’ve really already got quite a lot on your mind.

So here they are.

Just three simple tips that’ll hopefully make your life a little easier.

  1. Your wedding is only one day and will genuinely pass far quicker than you may anticipate – make the time to see all of your guests, to live and experience the occasion with them.
  2. Your wedding isn’t a checklist. So don’t feel like you need to run through an exacting order, otherwise you’ll miss out on the completely spontaneous happenings which often become the most memorable. Leaving yourself flexible time between any events is useful. If your venue/location doesn’t have an ‘on the day co-ordinator’, keeping an eye on the time should never be your job. Do not bring your watch! Assign this to someone else (eg bestman, close friend etc).
  3. You don’t want your wedding to be a photoshoot. If your photographer wants an hour or two for a photoshoot or to take you away somewhere new every 30 minutes, you need to understand that this will naturally make up a significant part of how you’ll experience the day. Logically, it would make sense to consider this before choosing your photographer (so you actually get the images and experience you want).

Happy weddinging!
